I am currently involved in projects in the Levant and the Balkans. My research focusses on the study of copper and stone artifacts, especially axes; it aims to re-construct prehistoric "divisions of labor" and the control of a society's means of production, thereby understanding how innovation is created and spreads in an archaic social system. Based on these results I am interested in exchange relationships and long-distance networks.
